Ashley is a mental health therapist, behavioral health interventionist, and
trainer with over a decade of experience in substance use treatment, dual-diagnosis care, and
behavioral health research. Her work is grounded in Motivational Interviewing (MI), person-
centered care, and evidence-based approaches to supporting behavior change. Ashley has
completed advanced MI training, including MITI coding courses and the Motivational
Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) Trainer-of-Trainers program (2024), and has provided
MI, substance use, and intervention-focused trainings to a wide range of professional audiences.
Her training experience includes work with pharmacy professionals through individualized
coaching, conference presentations and personalized trainings for private organizations, as well
as substance use treatment staff, behavioral health clinicians, post-graduate practitioners, and
healthcare workers. In her current research-based role with the University of Utah, Ashley
contributes to the development and implementation of innovative interventions targeting
substance use, while also maintaining a private clinical practice. Across her clinical, research,
supervision, and training roles, Ashley is committed to equipping professionals with practical
skills that strengthen engagement, autonomy, and meaningful change.
